ZrN has a higher wear resistance (H / E) than titanium nitride, whereby the same modulus of elasticity but a higher hardness can be achieved. ZrN and ZrCN layers have become the standard in decorative applications and in medical technology.

Hybrid coating processes allow the development of high-performance technical ZrN films with a low coefficient of friction on high-gloss surfaces.

Using hybrid coating processes, ZrN can be combined with TiN and CrN in order to achieve individual functional properties.

Extremely smooth surfaces can be achieved by combining evaporation-assisted sputtering processes and pulsed arc processes. A surface treatment, such as polishing or brushing, after the deposition is thus superfluous.

The lower getter properties of zircon do not require a clean room environment for high-quality ZrN coatings, which saves enormous costs in production.
